TALENTED . . . Hayden Burns
A TALENTED dancer who was homeless four years ago will follow his dream thanks to Oldham Chronicle readers.
Hayden Burns won a place at the prestigious Northern School of Contemporary Dance but feared he couldn’t afford the fees.
Now several sponsors have came forward to help the 20-year-old after he was featured in the Chronicle.
They have donated £1,135 which will pay for his year-long foundation course in Leeds. He will then be eligible for a grant to go on and do a degree.
Hayden was left homeless at the age of 16 when his mum and step-father emigrated to Bulgaria.
The former St Augustine’s School pupil lived in hostels for 16 months before getting a flat on St Mary’s Estate. He then completed a two-year dance diploma at Oldham College.
Rotary Club of Oldham Metro has given Hayden £350 and president Brian Fort said: “He is a lad from Oldham and he seemed to have potential — that struck a chord with us.”
Others donors have remained anonymous.
