Bakery’s tasty way to celebrate

Pound Bakery celebrates its 1st birthday with a birthday cake and a Happy Birthday sung by customers, staff and local children
THERE was only one way Poundbakery could celebrate its first birthday: by baking a cake!
Eight children from Marjorie Goulding Childminders in Oldham were champing at the bit to blow out the candles in Henshaw Street yesterday.
The firm — which charges £1 for all its products — has created 16 new jobs in Oldham as part of an expansion programme which has seen 36 stores spring up over the North-West.
Shop manager Tracy Henderson said: “This celebration is to thank all our loyal customers.”
Poundbakery’s very own mascot, Mr Tasty, was also on hand to give out free samples.
