Comics line up to aid Christie

Some of the biggest talents on the Manchester comedy circuit ate combining to raise money for charity.
Comedians including Justin Moorhouse and Oldhamers Mick Ferry and Steve Royle will help to raise funds for The Christie, which costs £180 million per year to run, with a night of comedy at at the Manchester Dancehouse.
Organiser Phil Buckley, from fund-raisers Comedy4Christies, said: “A couple of years ago they treated my girl friend’s aunt and grandmother within nine months of each other.
“I got fed up of saying I wish I could do something and realised I could raise money so I put together a show that was a great comedy night.
“With our Government making huge cuts to funding in the NHS, it is only a matter of time before even more cuts are made to the health system. In 2009 we raised £4,292, last year we raised £4,352 and this year we want to do even better.”
