CANAL enthusiasts can head to Failsworth on Sunday to enjoy the finale of the Rochdale Canal Festival.
The two-week long celebration of the borough’s historic waterways draws to a close with a range of family-friendly activities.
On Sunday, visitors can participate in canal-boat making, angling taster sessions, a climbing wall, storytelling, wildlife activities, live entertainment and refreshments.
The Mayor of Oldham, Councillor Richard Knowles, will join in the fun when he arrives by long boat at Failsworth canal basin at 12.30pm.
There is also the chance to join in the wider festival from Sowerby Bridge to Manchester, which includes guided walks, bike rides, canoeing, boating, angling, wildlife events, a lantern parade and much more.
