THUMBS up! Ethan and his golden key
LUCKY Ethan Green has his sweet tooth to thank for winning everyone’s childhood dream — a tour around a real-life chocolate factory.
The five-year-old was tucking into a bar of milk chocolate with strawberries from the Thorntons store in Spindles yesterday when out dropped his very own golden envelope and key.
The prize includes a visit to Thornton Park in Derbyshire for a behind-the-scenes factory tour as part of the company’s celebrations of its centenary year in October.
The youngster is one of just 100 people across the country to win the scrumptious prize.
Ethan, who attends St Herbert’s RC Primary School in Chadderton, said: “I picked the chocolate bar because I love strawberries.
“My sister Lucy was really jealous when I told her, but I think I’ll take my dad with me.”
Dad Ollie Green, from Broome Street, West Street Estate, said: “His mum wanted him to pick Bakewell Tart flavour but he chose strawberry instead.
“It was just like ‘Charlie and the Chocolate Factory’ when we saw the golden envelope slip out of the wrapper! He is a very lucky boy.”
