A CHADDERTON teenager has been jailed for 16 months for looting during the Manchester riots.
Levi Lawrence (19), of Coalshaw Green Road, admitted burglary at Manchester Crown Court after helping himself to wine and lager from a fridge at a Marks and Spencer store in Piccadilly Gardens.
The aspiring photographer had headed to the city centre in a bid to take pictures of the chaotic scenes.
Justin Hayhoe, prosecuting, said: “Police became aware of footage on YouTube showing the burglary taking place. It showed the defendant with his blond mohican.”
He later handed himself in to police in Oldham.
Rachel Faux, defending, said the teenager had jeopardised a bright future on a whim.
