A-STAR: Daniel McLoughlin (13) with his A* GCSE result in maths
GCSE 2011
A WHIZZKID from Chadderton clinched an A* GCSE maths grade at the age of 13.
The achievement means Daniel McLoughlin is one of the youngest pupil in Oldham to achieve a GCSE grade — never mind an A*.
The young science enthusiast showed early promise at Our Lady’s RC High School and teachers recommended the pupil to take the exams early after a stunning performance in a module.
Proud Dad Gary (48), of Ashton Crescent, said: “It’s amazing that he has done this three years early.
“I don’t know where he gets it from, but his brother Joseph (18) has just got into the University of York after gaining an A grade in maths.”
Daniel will start his next school term at Bluecoat School in Oldham.
