Troupe back in routine thanks to sponsors

REFLECTIONS dance troupe are celebrating this week after securing two sponsorship deals worth hundreds of pounds.

The dancers have received £250 from the Yorkshire Building Society after a parent wrote a pleading letter to the business.

The money was used to purchase hoodies for the entire troupe, which will make winter mornings that little bit warmer.

Local business QPrint then stepped in, offering hundreds of pounds worth of printing in exchange for an advertising spot on the new kit.

Troupe principal Michelle Merritt is now looking for more sponsorship to help pay for expenses such as rent and transport.

The troupe has not received a grant for two years and Michelle is eternally grateful to the sponsors who have been very generous in terms of their financial help.

The money will help Michelle to continue her good work, while the new kit has delighted the dancers.

The troupe has three groups with ages ranging from three to 44.

At the Oldham Festival in June, the troupe won two championships and finished as runners-up in another category. Despite success, the group has always struggled with funding.

Michelle is very proud of the troupe’s achievements. “The children are lovely and so committed,” she said.

“I’m so proud of the troupe and I can’t believe it when all the good results keep on coming in.”
