New TV role for Suranne
Date published: 30 August 2011
OLDHAM-BORN actress Suranne Jones will turn super sleuth again when she stars in a new detective comedy.
The former Oldham Theatre Workshop student and “Coronation Street” star will appear in “A Touch Of Cloth” on Sky.
Scottish actor John Hannah will take the role of Det Ch-Insp Jack Cloth, with Suranne, who played Det Con Rachel Bailey in ITV series “Scott and Bailey”, as his sidekick.
Television critic Charlie Brooker is part of the team writing the screenplay, based on a story by novelist Boris Starling. The series is described as “an all–encompassing parody of every police procedural ever written”.
No date has yet been given for the show’s airing on TV.
