WHEN little Halle Hunt is christened in November it will be a real grand occasion — for her four grandparents and eight great-grandparents will all be there.
The eight-week-old’s full set of older generations are coming together to celebrate her big day.
Proud parents Lisa (27) and Stephen Hunt (28), from Royton, are planning a big celebration with all her family hoping to attend.
The couple met while students at Edge Hill University, Ormskirk, and are extremely proud of their remarkable family.
Halle’s four grandparents are delighted to have a first grand-daughter. Peter (48) and Debbie Gibson (47) own the Junction Inn Pub in Royton, while Alan and Margaret Hunt (53) now live in Widnes.
Halle must compete for attention with her great-grandparents Thomas (79) and Mary Gibson (76), who have six other great-grandchildren, and Janine (74) and Thomas Wardle (72), from Manchester, who have 15.
However, for Halle’s other great-grandparents this is all a new experience.
Fred (82) and Dot Hunt (78), from Widnes, have not had a baby in the family for 21 years. Walter (89) and Cathlene Cain (82), also from Widnes, are ecstatic at the birth of their very first great-granddaughter.
Lisa and Stephen married in July, 2010, and are both family-orientated people.
“Our grandparents are the heart and soul of our family,” said Stephen. “They are living happily married and have been fantastic role models to us.”
“It’s amazing that they are all still alive and together living as couples,” Lisa said. “Me and Stephen come from very close families, we see all of our grandparents regularly.
“It is fantastic that they are a part of our daughter’s life.
“It has been very important to us to get married and have Halle in a happy, secure marriage. Family life is very important.”
