Woman rescued from blazing bedroom

FIRE-FIGHTERS hauled an unconscious woman from her bedroom in Shaw last night.
The 44-year-old was in bed when fire-fighters arrived to tackle the blaze in Rossendale Way.
Three crews from Chadderton and Oldham fire stations, plus police and paramedics, arrived at the scene shortly after 8pm.
The carpet and walls were affected by the flames, but it was deadly smoke that caused the biggest threat to the woman.
Fire-fighters managed to haul her to safety down the stairs and out the front door, where she was treated for smoke-inhalation by paramedics.
She was then take to the Royal Oldham Hospital.
Fire investigators were due to return to the property today to try and establish the cause of the fire.
