Caring Amanda in the final 10
Date published: 08 September 2011
A CARE worker has been nominated for a national award for her work.
Amanda Looseley (46), from Mossley, is one of only 10 finalists for the prestigious title of Caregiver of the Year.
Bosses at national at-home care company Home Instead Senior Care say the award goes to the person who consistently delivers outstanding service.
Amanda was put forward for the award by Mick Sheehan, who owns and runs the Oldham and Saddleworth office of Home Instead Senior Care.
Mr Sheehan said: “Amanda is a truly fantastic caregiver who is utterly dedicated to all of her clients. One lady Amanda visits four times a day and does not have any family living locally. Amanda has established a fantastic relationship and routine with this client and thanks to her tasty home cooking, this lady has regained her appetite and managed to reach a healthy weight once more.
“Amanda is an invaluable member of the team and a truly inspirational caregiver who thoroughly embodies the Home Instead ethos.”
The winner will be announced later this month.
