A FORMER Oldham teacher has returned to the borough to run Saddleworth School.
Matthew Milburn began his teaching career at Breeze Hill School before becoming an Assistant Principal at Oldham Sixth Form College.
He then went on to become a deputy head in Leeds and head teacher in Barnsley before starting as the new head of Saddleworth School this term.
He said: “It is an honour to work with such committed staff, such able children and such supportive parents.
“I’m really looking forward to working with children and their families to enable rich and deep learning.”
He replaces Patricia Cornish, who retired this summer.
