Team’s excellence
Date published: 14 September 2011
A HOSPITAL team based at the Pennine Acute Trust has been awarded national accreditation.
The occupational health department, which is based across hospitals in Oldham, Bury, Rochdale and North Manchester, is the first NHS Trust in the north and only the third in the country to be awarded excellence in occupational health service delivery.
The team currently provides occupational health services to more than 80,000 people from 150 public and private sector organisations.
The national accreditation means that the department will become a preferred provider of occupational health services to the NHS and other public and private sector organisations.
The scheme is managed by the Royal College of Physicians of London on behalf of the Faculty of Occupational Medicine, and the accreditation is awarded by the Safe, Effective, Quality, Occupational Health Standards Scheme (SEQOHS).
Team members were congratulated on their high standard of achievement and awarded accreditation for five years.
