Oldham Council meeting
METROLINK passengers could get a shuttle bus into Oldham town centre when the tram rolls into Mumps.
Councillor David Hibbert, cabinet member for regeneration, said he was to ask Greater Manchester transport bosses to provide the service in line with other places.
Technical problems have delayed the opening of the Metrolink extension to Mumps from this autumn until February/ March.
Services to Shaw and Rochdale have been delayed by three months until next summer but the extension through Oldham town centre is still on schedule to open in spring 2014.
Councillor Hibbert said that the walk from Mumps to the town centre was “difficult, intimidating and inconvenient” for some.
