FIVE cyclists are wheelie psyched for a 50-mile charity bike ride tomorrow — and are hoping for better weather.
Liam Lee, Andy Spencer and Damien Guerriero. who work at Joseph Parr Timber & Builders Merchants, in Higginshaw Lane, Royton, will be joined by customers Paul Walters and Jon Irvine as they raise money for Dr Kershaw’s Hospice.
The quintet are hoping to complete the Manchester to Blackpool bike ride in 41/2 hours, raising £4,500 for the cause.
They’ve been training hard, cycling about 20 miles three times a week.
Liam said: “We’ve heard the weather’s going to be bad on Saturday so we’re prepared for the worst. Some have been training more than others.
“We wanted to raise money for Dr Kershaw’s because we like to keep it local, that’s our motto.”
If anyone wishes to sponsor the riders, they can take donations before or after the race to the reception at the Joseph Parr office.
