MORE than 2,000 revellers are expected to flock to Delph tomorrow for the village’s Party in the Park.
Showgoers will be getting jiggy to the likes of Russell Shaun, set to delight the crowds with classic songs from the Rat Pack era in the showground at Delph and Dobcross cricket club.
Motown and soul are also on the bill with American band The Fantastics, before the headline tribute act The Rolling Clones take to the stage.
They’ll belt out well-known Rolling Stones hits and warm the crowd up for a spectacular firework finale.
Organised by the Wake Up Delph committee, money raised on the day will go towards funding Christmas lights in the village as well as a Santa parade in December.
Committee member Phil Beck said: “The weather forecast is not spectacular but come rain or shine we’ll have a great time.
“We set out as a one-off event, this is now the sixth year and it’s become one of the major events in Saddleworth.”
Delph Brass Band will perform a rousing finale, creating the epic atmosphere of the Last Night of the Proms, with patriotic flag waving guaranteed.
Gates open for ticket holders at 3pm, and the music starts at 4pm.
The last remaining tickets can be bought from Delph Post Office.
