THE £1million regeneration of Dunwood Park continues with the opening of the restored bowls pavilion on Monday.

The first phase of the programme is complete: the Edwardian building has had a major facelift that has retained its period charm but brought it fully up to date. It now has a meeting room, store room and toilets, and will be the base for a new park warden.

Oldham Council was awarded £1,093,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund (HLF) to give the park a major facelift following a successful ‘Parks for People’ bid. Oldham Council is also contributing £270,000 from its capital programme towards the work.
