Bus bursts into flames
Date published: 23 September 2011
RUSH-HOUR traffic backed up at Mumps roundabout yesterday after a fire broke out on a bus.
Firefighters turned out to the incident at 4pm, and put out the flames which are thought to have started in the engine at the back of the vehicle.
No passengers were on the bus and the driver was safely out of the vehicle when fire crews arrived.
Crews also dealt with a small diesel spill, leaving the owners of the bus, Bluebird, to remove the vehicle.
