Arson inquiry at farmhouse
Date published: 26 September 2011
AN empty farmhouse in Scouthead went up in flames on Saturday night in what fire-fighters believe was an arson attack.
Crews from Oldham were called to Gayley Hall Farm, Green Lane, at 10.20pm by neighbours who saw the detached property ablaze.
The property was well alight when fire crews arrived and they spent the night tackling the blaze which caused extensive damage to the ground floor and smoke and heat damage to the first. The owner was notified and met fire crews on site.
Police and fire investigation officers were on the scene yesterday to identify the cause of the blaze. No one was injured.
