Police today appealed for anyone with information about a man falling from a moving car to come forward.

As the Chronicle reported yesterday, a 32-year-old man was seriously injured after falling out of a moving car at about 8pm on Thursday in Stamford Road, at its junction with Dunham Street, Lees.

Officers believe a green Ford Mondeo was travelling north along Stamford Road when the rear offside passenger door was opened and a man fell on to the road striking his head. The car then drove off.

Officers found the man suffering from serious head injuries and he was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

Two women, aged 30 and 41 were arrested on suspicion of assault and have been released on bail pending further inquiries.

Det-Insp Dave Massey, of Oldham CID, said: “At this stage we do not have the full background of what led up to this incident, so we really want to hear from anyone with information.

“A man has been left fighting for his life so it vital that we speak to anyone with knowledge about this incident.”

Any witnesses to the collision are asked to call the Road Policing Unit at Chadderton on 0161-856 8473 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555 111.
