Nine cars damaged as driver falls ill at wheel

AN elderly man ploughed into nine parked cars at Chadderton Hall Park yesterday when he fell ill at the wheel of his Volkswagen Polo.

The damaged vehicles included four Ford Focuses, a Ford Fiesta, Ford Escort, Fiat Panda, Citroen C3 and Vauxhall Corsa.

Police were called to the car park at 12.05pm wher the man, who was conscious, had called for an ambulance. No-one else was injured.
