Oldham in the swim

THE piling used in the construction of the London 2012 aquatics centre comes from Oldham, it has been revealed.
Mayor of London Boris Johnson told the conference, in Manchester, the games will benefit every region of the country.
He said: “The Olympics are boosting jobs across the country, the decking comes from Poole, the security fencing comes from Wolverhampton, kerbs come from Northampton, the piling for the aquatics centre comes from Oldham, the velodrome seating from Barnsley.”
