A BRAVE four-year-old girl who suffers from a complex form of diabetes had her wish to be a princess granted.

Little Sophie Fieldhouse, from Failsworth, who lives with Congenital Hyper Insulin, loves all things pink and girly including dressing up, wearing make-up and pretending to be a princess.

Her greatest wish was to be a Rapunzel princess for the day so her mum Amanda applied to the charity Rays of Sunshine to help make her dream come true.

The charity grants wishes for seriously ill children aged three to 18 and immediately got to work to create Sophie’s dream day.

Sophie, her brother Joshua (9), mum and dad Lee were collected from home in a limousine and driven in style to Little Bigheads children’s hair salon in Wilmslow.

There she had her own personal stylist and beautician to create that princess look.

Sophie had her hair styled and nails painted before being dressed in a beautiful gown, tiara, jewellery and shoes.

Once the make-over was complete, the family was treated to a special lunch at Pizza Express before getting back in the limo for the journey home

The family said the day was “out of this world” and gave them the boost they needed.

Sophie was diagnosed with the condition, which means she produces too much insulin which lowers her blood sugar level, at just 18 months old.

She has to take medication three times a day to keep it under control and is monitored at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital.
