Man questioned over bus sex assault

A MAN has been arrested in connection with the sexual assault of a teenager on a bus from Failsworth to Manchester.

The 17-year-old victim was on the number 83 bus on September 25, travelling along Oldham Road, when the offender sat next to her and sexually assaulted her at about 11.15am.

The girl got off at Piccadilly Gardens and contacted the police.

As a result of the appeal to identify the offender, police received information that has led to the arrest of a 51-year-old man on suspicion of sexual assault.

He remains in police custody for questioning. Another woman has also reported a similar offence to police after reading about the incident.
