Chip shop man beat up his ex

A CHIP shop worker beat up his ex-partner twice in three days in front of her two children.
Shabab Khan (22) had punched and kicked her and attempted to strangle and suffocate her, a Manchester court heard.
Earlier in the year he was jailed for a month for attacking her, said prosecutor Tina Cunnane.
But Khan escaped going straight back to jail because he had served the equivalent of two months while on remand in custody.
Khan, of Crowford Street, Oldham, was sentenced to four months suspended for a year and ordered to pay £250 costs.
He was convicted after trial on two counts of common assault and ordered to pay the victim £100 compensation. Ms Cunnane said, during a row in the street on September 10, Khan thumped her in the mouth and right eye.
Two days later he turned up at her home and battered her again after following her upstairs. She suffered a black eye and bad bruising.
In a letter to the court Khan said he was sorry and claimed he had “turned over a new leaf”.
After looking at pictures of the victim, the bench told him “we are extremely disappointed and worried at the level of violence you used.”
