SHAW parish councillors stepped up their campaign to save Crompton Swimming Pool from closure.
A consultation is currently taking place to determine the future of Shaw baths, as it is known locally.
Council leader Jim McMahon said the pool needed to be refurbished or replaced because it is not in adequate condition.
SHAW residents will have to wait another six months for the completion of a road resurfacing programme.
The final section of the Shaw Road and Manchester Road scheme should have started in September. The work will take place over the Easter break next April with footpaths and kerbs renewed before then.
Crompton councillor Philomena Dillon said: “I am extremely disappointed that residents and motorists will have to endure the worn out surface for a further six months. The roads are very bumpy. It really is bad.”
Councillor Jean Stretton said: “The decision has been made to ensure the least possible disruption.”
