‘Secret Millionaire’ duo to share stories

WITH less that two weeks to the first Manchester Achievers’ Conference, hosted in Oldham, organisers are offering two VIP tickets for the price of one — a saving of £70.
Organiser Alison Hornsby, from The Enterprise Centre in Hathershaw, is hoping for a late rush of sales for what she is determined will become an annual event.
Alison was one of a handful of northern entrepreneurs to attend a similar event in London — where prices started at £600 per delegate — and was so impressed with the format she has brought the concept closer to home.
“It was simply fantastic to hear such inspirational stories from people who have made their way in the world of business that I wanted business people from Greater Manchester and the North-West to have a similar opportunity — but at a more realistic price,” Alison said.
Explained Alison: “Our key note speaker is Kevin Green, from the world of property, and it seemed right to offer a package to people from that sector.
“Kevin regularly appears on stage at events alongside Lord Sugar and Sir Richard Branson and tickets to see him at these events start at £500 — we are lucky to have such talent right here in Oldham and I want as many people as possible to hear the man. He is inspirational.”
Kevin, who has featured on hit Channel 4 series “Secret Millionaire”, will appear after another from that same show, Oldham’s own Gavin Wheeldon, chief executive of Applied Language Solutions in Delph.
Mr Wheeldon, from Greenfield, will talk about how he built his business into a global brand.
At the Oldham Council Chamber of Commerce construction sector business breakfast, Alison collected more than 60 business cards from delegates and a draw for a VIP package of tickets was won by Steve Fallows and Richard Fletcher, from architects Nicol Thomas, Heyside House, Blackshaw Lane, Royton.
The conference is on Saturday, November 12, at the Grand Venue in Westwood and there are a series of packages available to suit all budgets. Visit www.theenterprisecentre.co.uk/manchester-achievers-conference for details.
