Bonfire party nights

BONFIRE night is set to go with a bang for Oldhamers who have a sparkling array of events to choose from.
If you fancy some pre-Bonfire Night fun to get you in the mood, Heyside Cricket Club, Royton, is holding a fireworks display on Friday from 6.30pm, with refreshments available.
Oldham St Annes ARLFC, in Higginshaw Road, is also holding a bonfire night party on November 4, from 6pm.
Shaw Cricket Club is staging its annual extravaganza on Saturday, November 5, which attracts around 750 people a year.
The gates open at 6pm, the bonfire is lit at 6.30pm and the fireworks display starts at 7pm.
There will also be barbecues, food stalls and rides.
On November 5, Springhead AFC is staging a bonfire and firework evening at the club house, off St John Street, in Lees. Admission is £2.50 for adults and free for children and the bonfire is being lit at 6.30pm.
For those who fancy a November 5 with a difference, Springhead Community Centre has organised a bonfire night sequence dance, from 7.30pm-10.30pm. Admission is £6, including potato pie supper, with tickets available from Barry on 0161-624 0707 or Kath on 0161-633 3271.
Oldham Sports and Community Club is pulling out all the fireworks stops at its Broadbent Road home on November 5 with all the traditional elements plus a funfair, bar and refreshments, from 5.30pm.
