Pram thugs hunted
Date published: 03 November 2011
Police have issued CCTV of the moment a three–month–old baby in a pram was thrown to the ground as “desperate” robbers stole his grandmother’s handbag.
The attack happened at around noon on Saturday, October 15, when two women were walking back from shopping in Bolton town centre.
The mother of the baby boy was carrying a number of shopping bags, while the baby’s grandmother (56) was pushing the pram. After walking through Bobby Heywood’s Park, two men ran up behind them. The 56–year–old woman felt a blow to her head and screamed as she fell to the ground, causing the pram to topple over. The baby was strapped into the pram and was not injured, police said.
The two men managed to grab one of the handbags and flee.
