Teen held after fatal crash

Crash near New Year’s Bridge Reservoir

A Teenager was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving today after a passenger died in Saddleworth following an accident.

The A640 Huddersfield Road remained closed in both directions between Denshaw crossroads and New Year’s Bridge Reservoir in Booth Wood this morning as police investigated the scene

Two vehicles were involved in the accident on Range Lane, Denshaw, at around 2.50am.

The unnamed victim was rushed to hospital with serious head injuries, but later died.

An 18-year-old male was arrested.
