DEVASTATED: The fire-damaged farm.
A COUPLE are believed to have returned home from holiday in Barbados over the weekend after a blaze devastated their Greenfield home.
They are thought to have flown out to the Caribbean on Friday – just hours before the fire at 1.30am on Saturday.
Around 40 fire fighters from Oldham and Stalybridge attended the blaze at Noon Sun Farm, near Moor Edge Road. They initially feared that there could be people inside because of the time of night and a number of vehicles parked outside.
The large house in the Pennine hills has stunning views over Friezland. Its roof and interior were badly damaged. Fire investigators were at the scene over the weekend and the cause is being treated as accidental.
