Madhlo adds more workers

THE team behind Oldham’s new youth club, Madhlo, has been expanded from two to nine people.
The new recruits are talking to young people and their families around the borough and getting input into the development of the £5million facility in Egerton Street.
Chief executive Helen Taylor said: “We have been really fortunate with the recruitment, we have a fantastic team with a good range of skills and experiences, several of whom have been working in the town for a number of years.”
Laura Windsor-Welsh, the new youth work manager who will oversee all activity in the club. She previously worked with young people at Positive Steps. Joining here are Marya Afsar, Lucy Kershaw, Rachelann Brooks and Stephen Hardy.
Lucy, Rachelann and Stephen will be responsible for planning and delivering up to 25 different activities a night. Marya will encourage young people across Oldham to use the centre.
The team is keen to consult with groups of young people aged eight to 21. Email lucy.kershaw@mahdloyz.org to arrange a meeting. The centre opens in February
