A NEW rehabilitation programme for Oldham’s COPD sufferers has been launched.
Specialist respiratory teams from the British Lung Foundation have developed the programme that involves exercise, education, treatment and healthy living advice.
Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD) is an umbrella term for chronic bronchitis and emphysema, with symptoms including shortness of breath and a persistent cough.
The new service’s launch coincides with World COPD Day today — an international campaign to raise awareness of the condition.
Lynn Daniel from the foundation said: “The programme is a great way for people to meet others with a similar condition and to learn more about how they can manage their limitations for a better quality of life.
Patients with COPD can find out more about the pulmonary rehabilitation programme by calling 0161- 621 7185.
