A WOMAN for whom necessity became the mother of inventions has won a prestigious business award.
Child psychiatrist Farhia Khan established Dovehall in Oldham after professional and personal experiences exposed a gap in children’s mental health and social care.
As the parent of an autistic son she felt she wanted to help others in similar situations so went about setting up a children’s residential care home which caters for five young people, aged 12-18.
Her venture earned her Start Up Business Woman of the Year in the Women in Business Awards run by Forward Ladies.
The ceremony was held at the Midland Hotel in Manchester.
