Rights day for the army of carers
Date published: 30 November 2011
HELP is being offered to carers missing out on vital benefits and support.
A special Carers Rights Day event organised by Oldham Carers Centre and Oldham Carers Voice takes place on Friday and Saturday at Oldham Carers Centre in Phoenix Street.
Thousands of people looking after sick or disabled relatives at home may be missing out on what they can claim.
Oldham Carers Centre is one of hundreds of groups across the UK taking part in Carers Rights Day, a national awareness day organised by Carers UK.
Information stands from various partners from services within the borough will be in place on Friday, while a guest speaker will talk about benefits. On Saturday there will be another opportunity for working carers to pop in for information and advice.
