Santa arrives in style

SANTA swapped his sleigh for a white and red Cadillac when he arrived in style at Firwood Park.
Some 500 people turned out to join him for the fourth annual Christmas lights switch-on at the Chadderton estate.
And it was hailed the best-ever by organisers from the Firwood and District Residents’ Association.
Father Christmas was joined by Chadderton prince Max Butterworth (10), who lives on Firwood, and his little sister, Halle (8), who was a fairy helper.
William Bashford (7) switched on the lights while children from Mills Hill Junior School sung carols with members of Chadderton Community Choir.
Christine Dennis from the association: “People were so generous — lots of mince pies were given and people put money in a bucket to support the community.”
