Mrs Claus is coming to town!

CHRISTMAS cheer is coming to Oldham’s High Street with the launch of Mrs Claus’s Christmas Village.
Festive food, live music and children’s entertainment awaits Oldham town-centre shoppers from tomorrow.
Hot-dogs, warming gluhwein, crepes and other tasty treats will be on sale until December 18, as well as a daily programme of live music at weekends, and weekdays between noon-2pm.
For children there will be face-painting and balloon-modelling plus the chance to meet Bob the Builder who will be at Spindles tomorrow, followed by Postman Pat on Saturday, December 10.
There will also be Christmas craft activities and storytelling in the Market Hall on December 10 and Saturday, December 17.
Shoppers can enjoy free car parking offers in the town centre in the run-up to Christmas as well as during the January sales. On Saturdays, there is free parking for three hours in council car parks, free all-day parking in Hobson Street car park and parking for £1 for three hours in the Shopping Centre car parks.
There is also free parking for four hours in the Shopping Centre car parks on Sundays and free parking after 3pm on Thursdays.
Most shops in the town centre will also have additional opening hours. The Spindles/Town Square Shopping Centre offers shopping until 8pm on Thursdays and the Market Hall will be open on Sunday, December 18 between 9.30am-3.30pm.
There will also be late night shopping on Friday, December 23 until 7pm.
