Basement-rescue drama
Date published: 02 December 2011
FIREFIGHTERS and paramedics joined forces last night to rescue an injured man from a basement in Villa Road, Oldham.
Emergency services were called out shortly before 11pm after a lump of clay fell on a 35-year-old man, who was doing some building work in the basement.
Firefighters from Hollins worked alongside paramedics to stabilise the man, who had back injuries, before getting him out of the house through a window and taking him to hospital.
