Attack witnesses sought by police

A MAN was stabbed and threatened with an iron bar as he sat in his car in Royton waiting for a takeaway.
The Chronicle reported yesterday that a 31-year-old man had been stabbed in a car park off Middleton Road, Royton, at 8.55pm on Tuesday.
Police have now released further details and are appealing for two witnesses who could hold vital information about the attack to get in touch.
Officers have released images of the two men captured on CCTV close to where the attack took place.
The victim and a friend were waiting in the car park when the doors of the car were opened and two men started to attack them and they were threatened with an iron bar.
The fight continued outside the vehicle and at some point during the struggle the victim was stabbed in the right side of his chest.
He was taken to the Royal Oldham hospital and was treated for a stab wound and a collapsed lung. His condition is now described as stable and is not believed to be life-threatening.
The first attacker was white, 5ft 6in tall, of slim build and wore a black hooded tracksuit with the hood up and his face covered with a scarf. He was carrying a sports bag. The second was white, 5ft 10in tall, chubby, and wore a grey tracksuit.
