TWO huge Christmas events in Oldham town centre attracted around 14,000 people, Oldham’s Ton Centre Partnership organisation reports.
The Christmas lights switch-on by Wallace and Gromit brought in 8,000 people, while Santa’s Christmas Parade welcomed 6,000 visitors.
Sara Hewitt, town-centre manager, said: “Considering neighbouring town Ashton attracted 700-800 people at their switch-on, Oldham has done really well.”
