Watchdog’s praise for Butler Green
A FORMER council care home which was transferred to the NHS has been given the the seal of approval by the healthcare regulator.
The Care Quality Commission (CQC) carried out a spot check at Butler Green House, Chadderton, which provides intermediate care and rehabilitation to help cut hospital stays.
People who are unable to cope at home due to ill health can stay at the Wallis Street home for a short period until they get back on their feet.
Patients who have been in hospital can also go into the 28-bed unit to help them to become well enough to return home.
The CQC said: “People were able to be involved in and influence decisions about their care and support. Their privacy, dignity and independence were respected.”
Patients are encouraged to make their own food in the kitchen, attend clinic-style appointments that mimic real life situations and take part in physiotherapy sessions to build strength and improve balance.
