TAKEAWAYS were found to be breaching licensing laws in a crackdown by police and partner agencies.
They visited 22 takeaways in Oldham to clampdown on licensing issues and found fire-risk problems and business premises used as accommodation. Four people were also detained by the UK Border Agency for immigration offences.
The initiative was designed to ensure that local businesses are abiding by their license conditions with help and advice offered where necessary.
Officers from Oldham Town Centre Neighbourhood Policing Team and other agencies visited outlets over four evenings between September and November.
