JIMMY Cricket and The Krankies Coliseum comedy curtain-raiser drummed up a show-stopping amount of cash for Francis House children’s hospice.
Comedian Jimmy returned to the Oldham theatre to hand over £6,115 to the worthy cause and thank the Coliseum for the hosting “Stars Come Out for Francis House”, staged in October.
Commenting on the two-night hit show, which also starred pop combo the Swinging Blue Jeans, Jimmy said: “The show was a resounding success and raised buckets full of cash for the charity.
“This was the fourth edition of the show and it continues to be really well supported. The money raised will enable the Francis House children’s hospice to be able to continue the important work they do of caring for the region’s very sick children.”
“I hope the show can return for number five in the spring of 2013!”
A spokesman for Oldham Coliseum said “We’re really proud to support an event that benefits a great cause like Francis House.
“The show was a huge success and to have raised over £6,000 is a fantastic result.”
