OLDHAM stars are hoping for crowning glory after reaching the National Television Awards short list.
Voting has opened for the awards, which will be broadcast live on ITV1 from London's O2 arena on January 25.
Phillip Schofield has received a double nomination – he’ll be battling it out in the Talent Show category as Dancing on Ice goes up against Britain’s Got Talent, Strictly Come Dancing and The X Factor.
His second nomination appears in the Factual Programme category for This Morning, but he’ll be up against Manchester’s favourites Karl Pilkington, nominated for An Idiot Abroad.
Other nominations in this category include My Big Fat Gypsy Wedding and three-time NTA winners Top Gear.
DC Rachel Bailey, better known as Suranne Jones, who also hails from Oldham, is a contender in the female drama performance category. She starred in the detective drama series Scott and Bailey.
The winners are voted for by the public in a massive nationwide poll which has already opened – making it the only TV award show where viewers decide the winners.
Viewers can vote for free online at www.nationaltvawards.com or by telephone on 0901 888 2012.
