Postman fails to deliver himself
Date published: 06 January 2012
A WARRANT has been issued for the arrest of a postal worker after he failed to show up at Oldham Magistrates Court to face four charges.
David Ronan (32) of Esther Street, Oldham, is accused of intentionally delaying 708 packages in the course of their transmission by post, between September 20 and October 7, 2011.
He also faces charges of theft of packets and of attempted theft of a packet’s contents, belonging to Royal Mail Group Limited between October 3 and October 7, 2011. Ronan did not appear in court yesterday for his first hearing despite signing for a traced envelope which contained his summons to attend.
