Raiders steal clothes in violent robbery

ROBBERS brandished meat cleavers and kicked a man in the face during a terrifying attack at a Royton clothes store.
The three men wore balaclavas and hooded tops as they stormed into Scott’s clothing store at the Central Retail Park at around 7.25pm on Friday.
They demanded cash before kicking the member of staff, an 18-year-old man, in the face. His nose is thought to be broken.
The robbers grabbed clothes and bundled them into a sack before speeding off with their haul and an amount of cash in a Volvo 4X4 car towards the A627(M).
Det Con Ian Lloyd said: “This was a particularly violent and aggressive robbery. The offenders were clearly willing to cause harm. It seems as though the offenders specifically targeted the clothes they stole.
“We are asking for any potential witnesses to come forward.”
People are being urged to keep a look out for clothes that were stolen. They include Lacoste and Denham polo shirts, G-Star Raw jeans and shirts, Nicholas Deakin coats in olive green and Fred Perry polo shirts.
The Volvo car was an 09 registration car. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 0161-856 8951 or call Crimestoppers on 0800-555 111.
