Man injured in second fire
Date published: 30 January 2012
A MAN was discovered with minor burns at Booth’s Pet and Garden Centre last night — with police investigating the cause of a secondary fire at the scene.
The man, currently in Royal Oldham Hospital, will be questioned by police in relation to the fire at around 9pm at Turf Lane, Royton, and the primary fire which engulfed the centre on Friday evening.
Fire crews had left the devastation yesterday “happy” the fire was out in its entirety — but were due back today to “turn over” the rubble.
A police spokesman said: “The man was taken to hospital with minor burns and we are looking into the cause of the fire.”
