Are you sitting comfortably?

PENNINE Acute Trust is counting the cost of comfort after spending £40,000 to cushion the blow of bed sores.
The trust has bought 650 static foam cushions to lower the risk of patients developing pressure ulcers.
The sores — which occur when pressure is applied to the skin over a short period of time — are particularly common in patients who find it difficult to move.
Following their own specialist research the trust invested in hundreds of special cushions, which allow patients to sit for longer periods.
