Custody remand

A 37-YEAR-OLD man appeared before Oldham magistrates yesterday charged with the manslaughter of pensioner Nellie Geraghty.
Mark Royle, of no fixed address, was also charged with robbery and spoke only to confirm his name.
Magistrates ordered that Royle should go to Minshull Street Crown Court in Manchester to face the charges on March 13. No application was made for bail and he was remanded in custody.
